A Little History of Tahoe Swiss Village
Tahoe Swiss Village has long been considered one of the finest family communities on Tahoe’s West Shore. Conceived by developer Bill Frost, it was his vision to create an alpine village with the feel and proportion of the high mountain regions of Switzerland. Some of the streets are named after famous passes in the Swiss Alps – Grimsel, Furka, Simplon- and many of the original homes retain their colorful Swiss character and decorations.
Consisting of only 80 properties, Tahoe Swiss Village boasts spacious wooded lots, a private beach, pier and buoy field, and sumptuous lake views. Located less than a mile from Homewood Ski Area, this four season community offers easy access to all the amenities for which Lake Tahoe is renown: skiing, snow boarding, water skiing, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, bike trails and plenty of backcountry hiking and snowshoeing just a mile north in pristine Blackwood Canyon or four miles south at Sugar Pine Point.
Tahoe Best “Guides to Lake Tahoe” calls Tahoe Swiss Village a quality subdivision where very few Tahoe Swiss Village homes come on the market due to year-round and long-term second homeowners and the private beach, pier and boating amenities.
