Rules for use of Beach, Pier and Buoys

TAHOE SWISS VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
BEACH, BUOY AND PIER RULES

  1. The beach area and buoy field is open only to members in good standing of the Tahoe Swiss Village Homeowners Association, their families and their guests. Sunbathing and lounging is not permitted on the main pier.  Always be mindful and considerate of others.
  2. Buoy boats {dinghies/boat tenders} are to be left only in the area designated, which is currently the area at the south end of the beach, stacked alongside the cribbage pier.  Tenders are only for buoy lessee’s use. No use is permitted to children less than 16 years of age.  For safety purposes, please keep children away from the tenders.  Also life jackets must either be worn or in the tender when in use {NOTE: survival rate is 90% greater if a life jacket is worn}.  Life jackets and oars are in the oar box and the combination is provided to our lessees.  Currently, TSV has six tenders for use, which means that the first five can be left on the lessee’s buoys while their boats are being used.  However, the last tender, if no others are on the beach, must be returned to the beach immediately for the next person’s use.
  3. No boat should be tied to the north side of the pier for more than an hour. The end of the pier and the south side are for loading and unloading only. Tie the boats to the steel pilings only. The wooden posts are not well supported and can break.
  4. The maintenance and use of buoys is governed by the TSVHA. Permission to use buoys within the TSVHA buoy field is subject to approval by the Association and its Board of Directors. Buoys are assigned by buoy number after proper forms and evidence of insurance have been submitted and approved.
  5. In no case, may buoys be rented or sub-leased to anyone by the buoy user. Only TSVHA may assign or allow use of a buoy. See 4 above.
  6. Boats are limited to 28 feet or less and mooring lines must be 18 feet or less. Safe mooring lines are the responsibility of the boat owner using the buoy.
  7. No dogs or pets are allowed within the beach area except if leashed and are being loaded onto or unloaded from a boat.  Between Memorial Day and Labor Day dogs can be exercised on the beach prior to 7 am and after 7 pm. Owners are responsible for picking up after their pets.
  8. NO FIRES are allowed anywhere on the beach or piers.
  9. Please keep the beach, piers and buoy field clean for others. Take all refuse with you.
  10. Rescue life ring with rope, life hook with pole and resuscitation instructions are on the main pier south side cat walk. Look for the “RESCUE” sign 110 feet out from the beach or 70’ back from the end of the pier. This equipment is for your safety. Please use it only in an emergency.
